1)      Recent Events/Announcements:

·         On the weekend of the 21^st there was a Hiking Trip, for the younger scouts, and Tree planting trip at the Flight 93 memorial for the older scouts. The following scouts attended the tree planting at the memorial, Evan Gutshall, Chris Laster, Matt Mamros, Matthew Mullan, Adam Shope, Ben Small, Ian Sopko, and Derek Taylor. The following scouters attended the tree planting, Mr. Dolinar, Mr. Gutshall, Mr. Mullan, Mr. Shannon, Mr. Shope, and Dr. Mamros. There were several scouts that attended the hike, Steven Babyak, John Dembrak, Jared Ensle, Alex Mongelluzzo, Andrew Ridge, and Paul Suchko. Several scouters attended the hike as well, Mr. Dembrak, Mr. Ensle, Mr. Ridge, and Mr. Suchko. Many thanks to Mr. Shope for taking time to coordinate the tree planting and the hike.

2)      Upcoming Activities:

·         The Spring Camporee is taking place this weekend at Camp Anawanna, we will be leaving to go to the Camporee Friday evening, unless there is a decision made otherwise. Bring your Totin’ Chip to this event if you have one!

·         The Convocation Mass is on Sunday April 29 at 2 PM at St Paul's Cathedral. All Scouts who earned Religious Emblems are expected to attend and all other Scouts and parents are welcome to attend.

·         There is a Geocaching Merit Badge Workshop on Saturday May 5 from 9-Noon at Mayview Boyce Park, weather permitting. We will need adult help and hand held GPS units. Bring your merit badge work books.

·         Adult religious training to become a Religious Emblem Trainer is Thursday May 10 at Seton Lasalle HS.  There are only 2 workshops a year. You must be trained to teach the Boy Scout Catholic Emblems. There are 3 Catholic Boy Scout Emblems. Call Pat Waskowiak to sign up 412-456-3140. Ideally the troop needs at least 2 more trained adults.

3)      Reminders

·         If you are going to be absent from a meeting for any reason please let your patrol leader know before the meeting. The Patrol Leader for Riders of Rohon is Steven Babyak and the Patrol Leader for Green Lantern Corp is Matt Mamros.  If you need to know what patrol you are in you may ask either of the patrol leaders or the scribe.

·         Mr. Mottola has started a Personal Management merit badge workshop. The merit badge requires daily attention over a 13 week period. He has copies of the workbook. If you need to get a blue card please speak to Mr. Suchko.

·          Want a great gift for a Scout or Scouter? Buy a troop T-Shirt for only $6.

·          Troop merit badge books, should be returned to Librarian, Andrew Mottola. Troop equipment should be returned to the Quartermaster, Adam Shope.
